Exclusive: Norwich and Blackburn in race to sign Mark Kosznovszky

Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers are eyeing January moves for Hungarian midfielder Márk Kosznovszky, sources have told Football Insider.

Kosznovszky is valued around the £500,000 mark and is understood to be keen on a move to play in England.

The 22-year-old, who plays for MTK Budapest, has been named in the Hungary Team of the Year for 2024 after a number of impressive performances for his current club.

The central midfielder has scored three goals and provided five assists in 15 games across all competitions which has put him on the radar of various clubs across Europe.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Kosznovszky is expected to be called up to the Hungary national team soon due to his consistent performances.

The midfielder has represented his country from the Under-16s through to the Under-21s setup as he continues to progress his career and now a move to the Championship could be his next step.

Norwich and Blackburn are both pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season and are looking to strengthen their squads in the January transfer window to enhance those odds.

Blackburn currently sit fifth in the table as they trail league leaders Sheffield United by eight points, while Norwich are 12th and are eight points away from the playoff positions.

The young midfielder is being monitored by both clubs currently as the two managers attempt to provide themselves with more options.

Kosznovszky isn’t the only player that the Canaries are attempting to sign though, as Football Insider revealed that the club are also monitoring the progress of Ed James.

The teenage defender has been impressing during a loan spell at Yeovil Town and has caught the attention of Norwich, West Ham, and Southampton.
