Exclusive: Norwich, Coventry and Swansea eye non-league sensation Joe Andrews
Norwich, Coventry, Swansea and Peterborough are among several EFL clubs that are tracking non-league sensation Joe Andrews, sources have told Football Insider.
Wales U19 International Andrews has been a revelation for Chippenham this season after joining the National League South side from Southampton last summer.
The six foot two inch left-footed central midfielder has been a standout performer for Chippenham and his performances have led to a host of EFL clubs flocking down to see him.
Championship trio Norwich, Coventry and Swansea as well as League One outfit Peterborough have all made regular checks on Andrews as they weigh up a move for the talented midfielder.
The 18-year-old came through the ranks at Southampton, spending over 11 years at St Mary’s, but he never made a first-team appearance for the Saints.
Chippenham have a good track record of developing young players and selling them to the league with centre back Dan Ellison moving to Bristol Rovers last summer. It’s only a matter of time before Andrews makes the step up.
Coventry one of many clubs fighting for Joe Andrews’ signature
Andrews made the move to Chippenham in July 2024 on a free transfer and has been instrumental for the side this season.
The Welsh international has enjoyed a breakout campaign, making 22 appearances in the National League South and contributing two assists during that time.
With Chippenham currently sitting in 16th place, the allure of a move to a higher level may prove too tempting for the youngster to turn down.

Frank Lampard’s Coventry are active in the transfer market and eager to strengthen their midfield options. Football Insider recently revealed that they are also pursuing Oxford United star Tyler Goodrham, although the pursuit of Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo appears to have collapsed [Sky Sports].
Norwich, Swansea, and Coventry are all within two points of each other in the Championship table, but the opportunity to work under Lampard could play a pivotal role in Andrews’ decision.
Meanwhile, Peterborough are currently languishing in 19th place in League One but remain interested in the midfielder’s signature.
In other news, Coventry and Stoke are reportedly eyeing a move for a Crystal Palace midfielder.
