Exclusive: Norwich City in advanced talks to sign ex-Crystal Palace star
Norwich City are poised to sign Jeffrey Schlupp on a free transfer with the midfielder in advanced talks over a move, sources have told Football Insider.
The former Crystal Palace man is currently a free agent having left the Eagles upon the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.
West Brom had been plotting a move of their own, sources told Football Insider, but have fallen short in their hopes of signing the ex-Leicester star.
Schlupp, 32, spent the second half of last season on loan with Celtic, making 18 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side as he helped the Bhoys to retain the Scottish Premiership title.
He’ll now be hoping to kickstart his career in the Sky Bet Championship with the Canaries.

Schlupp set to become a Canary
Schlupp’s move to Carrow Road comes as the Canaries look to undergo something of a rebuild going into the new season.
Having sacked Johannes Hoff Thorup and opting not to name Jack Wilshere as permanent boss following his caretaker spell in charge, Norwich appointed Liam Manning as the club’s new manager.
Manning led Bristol City to sixth place in the Championship last term, teeing up a play-off clash with Sheffield United which they lost over two legs.
Now at Carrow Road, Manning will be hoping to improve on Norwich’s 13th place finish last term and push them into play-off contention in the upcoming campaign.

Schlupp will add vital experience to Norwich
Football Insider verdict
Manning faces a difficult task to turn Norwich back into promotion contenders this season, but Jeffrey Schlupp will undoubtedly help.
The 32-year-old has made 66 appearances in the Championship during his career, while also making 288 in the Premier League.
Games | Goals | Assists |
247 | 19 | 17 |
During that time he scored 22 goals and provided 17 assists.
The 32-year-old was part of the legendary Foxes team that won the top-flight title in 2016, while he also helped the East Midlands club win the Championship title back in 2014.
Schlupp’s exploits in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic show that the midfielder, who can also operate as a fullback, should thrive in the Championship next term.
The 32-year-old arrives at a time when the Canaries will need proven quality following the departure of Borja Sainz to FC Porto.
Meanwhile former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Leeds are considering a move for Josh Sargent.
