Exclusive: Plymouth Argyle agree deal to sign ex-Coventry star Marko Marosi

Plymouth Argyle have agreed a deal to sign former Coventry and Shrewsbury goalkeeper Marko Marosi on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 30-year-old is a free agent and will sign a short-term deal at Home Park.

Marosi left Shrewsbury in June after the expiry of his contract in Shropshire.

Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth side have started the 2024-25 campaign with Conor Hazard in goal but the shot-stopper has recently undergone ankle surgery.

Daniel Grimshaw is currently the only fit goalkeeper on the books at Argyle after Hazard’s injury and is set to play against Championship leaders Sunderland on Saturday (14 September).

Michael Cooper, who starred for Plymouth last term, joined Sheffield United in the summer window.

Marosi is set to come in and bolster the Pilgrims’ goalkeeping options after his time with Shrewsbury, Coventry and Doncaster Rovers in England.
