Exclusive: Portsmouth submitting official Abu Kamara offer

Portsmouth are readying an official bid for Norwich winger Abu Kamara this week as they look to re-sign their former loan star, sources have told Football Insider.

Norwich are reluctant to lose Kamara, but could accept a significant offer for the 20-year-old forward.

Portsmouth are set to test their resolve to hang onto the England Under-20 international with a firm offer.

Kamara impressed during his time on the South Coast last season, scoring 10 goals in 52 matches to help Portsmouth win League One and secure promotion back to the Championship.

The winger is considered to be a hot prospect by Norwich, although a significant offer could be enough for Portsmouth to prise him away from his parent club.

Portsmouth making official move for Abu Kamara

Last season, Portsmouth ran away with the League One title, finishing on an impressive 97 points, five points ahead of fellow ex-Premier League side Derby.

Kamara is capable of playing on either wing but operated primarily as a right-winger during his loan spell at Pompey. He ended their season as the club’s top assist maker.

His willingness to run at and take defenders on proved to be a vital cog in John Mousinho’s league-winning side.

The young Englishman amassed 57 successful dribbles and had 196 touches in the opposition box throughout the league last season.

After just three appearances for Norwich since the start of his professional career in 2022, Kamara will be keen to play first-team football.
