Exclusive: Premier League duo ready to beat Man United to permanent Michael Carrick appointment
Michael Carrick is inspiring interest from a number of Premier League clubs in case he does not land the permanent Man United job this summer.
The Red Devils’ interim manager has picked up three wins from his first three games in charge against Man City, Arsenal and Fulham and has widely impressed.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, multiple top-flight sides are keeping an eye on his situation at Old Trafford.
Crystal Palace will be without a manager come the summer after Oliver Glasner confirmed his exit, with Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola could leave Fulham and Bournemouth respectively.
All three will be watching Carrick’s progress closely and could be convinced to make a move if Man United push forward with appointing a fresh face.

Michael Carrick could land new job after Man United exit
Former chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 26 January that Man United will not rush into hiring Carrick and plan to assess their options at the end of the season.
The boss has done his reputation no harm with a strong start at Old Trafford, with many insisting he is in pole position to land the permanent job.
However, should they opt to look elsewhere, Carrick will not be short of options with Premier League clubs lining him up for potential future positions.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “He’s obviously building a strong case to maybe have that interim spell turned into a permanent manager’s job come the summer with Manchester United. I don’t think United are rushing into anything just yet.
“But look, if there’s a Premier League club looking for a new manager there, and if Michael Carrack is available, he’s showing he knows how to get wins in the Premier League.
“If he gets Man United back in the Champions League, he’s going to be a hot commodity for a lot of clubs.

“He’s proved that he can do it in the Premier League as well and obviously managing a club like Manchester United shows that he can handle the pressure as well.
“So I’m sure any Premier League club who’s looking for a new manager, if Michael Carrick is available, he’ll be on the list.”
Could Carrick become the permanent Man United manager?
Brown told Football Insider that Carrick’s tactical tweaks have transformed Man United and are largely to thank for their last three victories.
The transformed performances of a number of first-team stars who had struggled under Ruben Amorim are making a strong case for the new boss.
Football Insider revealed on 18 January that Carrick could land the permanent Man United job as his position as interim manager puts him in the box seat.

However, any decision about his future will be made closer to the end of the season, and there is no guarantee that his displays will land him the job.
Brown told Football Insider that Carrick will force Man United into a difficult decision as they may have to make a U-turn on their plans.
