Exclusive: Rangers receive multiple approaches over deal to sign Ross McCausland
Rangers winger Ross McCausland is a target for a number of clubs in England, Europe and the MLS for a loan move with an option to buy, sources have told Football Insider.
Several suitors have reached out to Rangers to make enquiries about the availability of the Northern Ireland international this summer.
McCausland scored three goals and notched one assist last season as he was limited to just 25 appearances under Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson.
The 22-year-old found game-time increasingly hard to come by as the campaign reached its latter stages, and so could well leave Ibrox soon in search of more minutes next term.

McCausland a wanted man as Rangers weigh up exit decision
McCausland joined Rangers‘ academy set-up in 2019 from Northern Irish side Linfield, and made his first-team debut at 19-years-old in May 2022.
He mostly continued in the Gers’ B-team for the rest of that season, but soon started to get more senior game-time under interim boss Steven Davis after Michael Beale had been sacked in October 2023.

The winger was nominated for the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award after a breakout 2023/24 campaign, but was unable to build on that progress last season as he fell down the attacking pecking order.
McCausland was criticised after being sent-off against Aberdeen in April, and it looks as if his shortcomings last campaign could contribute to at least a loan exit away from the Glasgow giants this summer.

Rangers facing Djeidi Gassama transfer collapse
McCausland’s Rangers future could hinge on the outcome of the club’s pursuit of Sheffield Wednesday attacker Djeidi Gassama, who is also a winger by trade.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (11 July) that Rangers had been confident of landing the 22-year-old after agreeing a fee with the Championship side, but sources have now said that Wednesday are ready to pull the plug on a deal to take Gassama to Ibrox.
The French wide-man was pictured wearing the Gers new training gear [Daily Record] as his move progressed earlier this week, but the Owls’ controversial hierarchy are now having second thoughts on the move and it could see the switch fall through.
Elsewhere, Football Insider also recently revealed that Rangers are ready to sanction another exit alongside McCausland’s potential departure, with the Ibrox club set to accept offers for striker Cyriel Dessers amid interest from AEK Athens, who have so far failed to meet their asking price for his services.
