Exclusive: Ruben Selles in advanced talks to be Sheffield United manager
Sheffield United are in advanced talks to appoint Ruben Selles as their new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The Blades have approached Selles, 42, over the job with the club set to sack current boss Chris Wilder.
They are yet to confirm Wilder’s exit – but he is expected to be dismissed just weeks after the Championship play-off final defeat against Sunderland.
Selles only departed Hull City last month following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign but is already set for a return to management at Bramall Lane.

The Spaniard has also taken charge at Southampton and Reading but was sacked for the first time at Hull despite avoiding relegation to the third tier.
He spent 18 months with Reading in challenging financial circumstances before being picked for the role with the Tigers.

Cooper to Everton latest from Bramall Lane
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (16 June) that Everton are set to fail in their efforts to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Michael Cooper.
Cooper wants to remain a first-choice goalkeeper and is not keen to play backup to Jordan Pickford on Merseyside.
Sheffield United, meanwhile, are under no pressure to cash in on their goalkeeper despite missing out on promotion to the Premier League.
