Exclusive: Ryley Towler undergoing Lincoln City medical today after Portsmouth accept bid

Ryley Towler is undergoing medical at Lincoln City today after they agreed a fee with Portsmouth, sources have told Football Insider.

Lincoln have beaten off interest from Luton Town and Huddersfield Town to land the centre-back.

Portsmouth are willing to let Towler move on as he is not part of John Mousinho’s long-term plans at Fratton Park.

The 23-year-old started just 10 Championship games for the south coast side last season and was omitted from matchday squads entirely for the majority of the second half of the campaign.

Towler set to fill centre-back void

Last month (17 June) Football Insider exclusively revealed that Lincoln captain Paudie O’Connor was undergoing a medical at Reading.

O’Connor was key for the League One outfit last season, but his free transfer to the Royals has been confirmed, leaving a hole in the Imps’ backline.

Towler’s imminent arrival could help to fill the void left by their outgoing skipper, as Lincoln aim for a playoff push in the upcoming campaign.

Michael Skubala’s side finished 11th in League One last season, 17 points adrift of Leyton Orient in sixth.

Millwall receive Parma approach for Ivanovic

Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Parma have made an approach for Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanović.

The 20-year-old scored 13 goals over 40 appearances in all competitions last season after a £2.8million move from Serbian side Vojvodina, and that form has attracted attention across Europe.

Parma are in the market for a new striker, having sold Ange-Yoan Bonny to Serie A rivals Inter, and they see the Millwall man as a potential replacement to bolster their attacking unit.

As exclusively revealed by Football Insider, Everton and Wolves are also interested in Ivanovic, with the Premier League duo keen to bolster their respective attacking ranks.
