Exclusive: Salford City agree Ryan Graydon fee with Fleetwood

Salford City have agreed an initial fee of £400,000 rising to £600,000 with Fleetwood Town for their striker Ryan Graydon, sources have told Football Insider.

The frontman, who has notched eight goals in 24 appearances in League Two so far this term, is putting the finishing touches to a man to the division’s promotion chasers.

But he is now set to leave Fleetwood with an agreement reached between the two clubs for a total package worth £600,000.

Football Insider revealed back in August that Graydon was a target for several League One clubs, but it is the ambitious Ammies who are now set to win the race for his signature.

Karl Robinson’s men are currently level on points with Walsall in the final automatic promotion spot, and they will have their eyes fixed firmly on a place in the top three come the end of the season.

Salford set to add proven goals with Ryan Graydon

Salford have big ambitions to push beyond League Two in the coming years, and their move for Graydon is a statement of their intent for the second half of the campaign.

The Irishman notched nine goals and seven assists in league action last term, and he is already well on his way to bettering that tally this time around, with eleven goal involvements to his name already.

Salford have struggled for goals a little in 2025-26, with seven of League Two’s current top 10 teams outscoring them just after the season’s halfway stage.

Graydon will provide a welcome boost for Robinson and Co. in that department, but his arrival is not set to come cheaply for the Greater Manchester outfit.

Fleetwood placed a significant valuation on their star man, and it has taken a lucrative bid for League Two level in order to break their resolve.

Salford also set to sign Zach Awe

Football Insider revealed last week that Zach Awe is set for a medical at Salford this week ahead of a permanent switch from Southampton.

The 21-year-old has already agreed on personal terms with Salford, while the two clubs have also reached an agreement, with the deal now on the verge of going through.

The defender joined the Saints from Arsenal back in 2023, but has since failed to make a single senior appearance and is now ready to leave the South Coast outfit.

Awe is due at the Peninsula Stadium for his medical this week, and it looks as though he could soon be joined by Graydon as Salford prepare to bolster their squad in the early weeks of the window.
