Exclusive: Sam Field undergoing Norwich medical as QPR deal agreed
Sam Field is undergoing a medical at Norwich City after they agreed to sign him on loan from Queens Park Rangers, sources have told Football Insider.
Derby County and Charlton Athletic were also in the running to sign the 27-year-old but the Canaries have moved quickly to beat them to an agreement.
The central midfielder has found regular starts hard to come by this season, with 10 of his 18 appearances in all competitions coming from the bench.
As a result, he has been keen to move away on loan before tonight’s 7pm deadline and will finalise the deal after undergoing medical checks.
Field signed a new contract at QPR last summer, but is now prepared to leave on loan.

Norwich City close in on Sam Field signing
Field is now closing in on a move to Norwich after their move was preferred to both Derby and Charlton, with a loan agreed until the end of the season.
Norwich have endured an underwhelming season so far and remain 19th in the Championship, with new arrivals coming in as they aim to turn around a dismal start.
The Canaries have already signed four new players in the mid-season window to aid in their fight against relegation and are hopeful of adding more.
A central midfielder has been a key target for Philippe Clement, after Pelle Mattsson suffered an injury during their recent victory against Coventry.
Field ticks a number of boxes for the role, while the move to beat a number of rivals to his signature will be seen as a major coup.
QPR bracing for late departures
Field is not the only player being linked with a late move away from Loftus Road, as interest in striker Richard Kone has grown on deadline day.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Ipswich are interested in signing Kone, although the Rs remain determined to keep hold of their star striker.
The Tractor Boys have fallen to fourth after disappointing results against Preston North End and Sheffield United and hoped to strengthen in the window.
Earlier this month, Football Insider revealed that Ipswich offered Callum Wilson a contract, but he has since decided to remain at West Ham.
