Exclusive: Tottenham could get Jobe Bellingham boost this week

Tottenham will be boosted in their pursuit of Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham if Borussia Dortmund fail to secure Champions League football, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (12 May) that Sunderland are resigned to losing star man Bellingham if they do not gain promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

It has been widely reported that Dortmund are planning a summer move for the 19-year-old with a fee of £25million mooted – but could struggle to fund the move without qualifying for the money-spinning Champions League.

Spurs, Crystal Palace and Man United are also monitoring his situation at the Stadium of Light, where he is under contract until June 2028.

Dortmund currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga ahead of their final game of the season against already-relegated Holstein Kiel on Saturday (17 May).

They are one point adrift of SC Freiburg in fourth, with the top four qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are in the Championship play-offs and battling for promotion to the Premier League.

Bellingham, who was named Championship Young Player of the Season, will not be the only Black Cats star to depart if they remain in the second tier.

He has made 41 appearances across all competitions this term, notching four goals and three assists.

The midfielder cost around £1.5million when he joined Sunderland from Birmingham almost two years ago.

Tottenham are bracing themselves for interest in Porro this summer with Man City among those keen to land the Spain international.
