Exclusive: Tottenham could go over Thomas Frank’s head and accept ‘very lucrative bid’

Tottenham could go over Thomas Frank’s head and accept a “very lucrative” bid for Heung-min Son this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The forward, 33 next month, is once again a target for Saudi Pro League clubs.

Son has 12 months left to run on his Tottenham contract after the north London club triggered a one-year extension clause earlier this year.

Sources say an executive decision could be taken by the club, not Frank, if a lucrative offer arrives for the South Korea icon – even though the Dane would prefer to keep him.

The forward has previously turned down interest from Saudi Arabia but could be sacrificed by Spurs this summer as they bid to back the club’s new manager with a sufficient war chest.

Son hit 11 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign.

He finally won the first trophy of his Tottenham career, wearing the armband as Ange Postecoglou’s side lifted the Europa League in Bilbao last month.

The ex-Leverkusen star has been with Spurs for 10 years – scoring 173 goals in 454 appearances for the club.

Son managed his best one-season return in the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 24 goals and notching 10 assists in 45 games.

Dibling among targets for Tottenham

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (30 May) that Tottenham remain keen on Tyler Dibling but will not meet his reported £55million price tag.

Dibling, 19, is expected to leave relegated Southampton in the summer transfer window.

Sources say it is now an “open race” for the England Under-21 international’s signature – with Liverpool also keen to land him this summer.
