Exclusive: Tottenham tell Man City what they need to pay to finalise Pedro Porro deal
Tottenham Hotspur will strike a hard bargain for Pedro Porro this summer as Manchester City attempt to re-sign the right-back, sources have told Football Insider.
Porro signed for Man City from Girona in 2019 but never made a first-team appearance at the Etihad Stadium, and was loaned to Valladolid and Sporting CP before Tottenham bought him from the latter.
Spurs paid £39.7million in total to loan and then buy Porro from Sporting in 2023, and sources have told Football Insider that two years on, they value Spain international at £50m with City’s interest clear.
City seem certain to be in the market for a new right-back this summer after Kyle Walker’s move to AC Milan, with Matheus Nunes forced to deputise after Guardiola questioned his ability to play in midfield.

Man City face uphill battle for Pedro Porro transfer
Concrete interest from City in Porro would come as a surprise to Football Insider sources, both due to his £50m price tag and questions marks over his defensive capabilities despite a strong output in attack.
Sources have told Football Insider that negotiations between the clubs “won’t be easy”, and as much as City are in need of a right-back, their pursuit of Porro could be “too problematic” for a deal to be struck.
Porro’s form this term has been just as inconsistent as almost every other player in Ange Postecoglou’s squad, but Spurs’ £50m demand makes clear that they still value the Spaniard as a top-level right-back.

Pedro Porro impasse forces Man City to move on
Former Man United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in February that midfield will be Man City’s priority in their pursuit of five world-class summer signings, but the full-back areas will also be assessed.
Walker’s Milan spell has been affected by injury, and though ex-City advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider that he could return to the Etihad Stadium this summer, an upgrade at right-back is still needed.
Porro could be replaced on the right flank of Spurs’ defence by Djed Spence if he does move to City, but it’s become clear that negotiations between the two clubs won’t result in a straightfroward conversation.
