Exclusive: Tottenham told ‘£40m’ offer for Ait-Nouri could be accepted
Tottenham would need to pay a “huge” £40million fee to secure the signing on Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Spurs have joined the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.
The Algeria international will have just one year remaining on his contract in June – although Wolves reserve the option to extend his deal by an extra year.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in November that Ait-Nouri could leave Wolves on a cut-price deal given the level of interest in his signature.
Sources say the Black Country club will struggle to keep hold of their left-back beyond the end of the season as a result of their poor league performance.
Wolves now look likely to remain in the Premier League for next season, having built a nine-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone, but have endured a woeful season at Molineux.

Tottenham to capitalise on Wolves exodus in Ait-Nouri deal
Tottenham’s interest in a new left-back comes amid concerns about Destiny Udogie’s recent performances, which have seen him drop out of the starting XI.
Djed Spence has frequently been called upon to fill in on the left, but is naturally right-sided, forcing the club to consider their options in the transfer market.
Wolves, meanwhile, could face a potential summer exodus amid growing interest in their best players as a result of their low league position.
Former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 16 February that Matheus Cunha is likely to leave Wolves, despite signing a new contract in February.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are eyeing a move for Joao Gomes, who could join Cunha and Ait-Nouri through the exit door at Molineux in the summer.

Ange Postecoglou eyes new defender signing after huge bid rejected
Postecoglou is aiming to strengthen his squad during the summer transfer window after what has been a disappointing season so far for Tottenham.
Their pursuit of Ait-Nouri has emerged recently, but a number of other defensive targets have been eyed over the course of the season as it remains a key area for improvement.
Brown told Football Insider on 20 March that Marc Guehi remains Tottenham’s top target, while they are also considering a renewed bid for AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham haven’t given up on signing Guehi after having a £70million bid rejected in the closing stages of the mid-season window.
