Exclusive: Tottenham told ‘huge’ Conor Gallagher offer will be accepted
Tottenham have been told it would take a huge offer to sign Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window.
Man United and Crystal Palace both have a strong interest in the England international, 25, and Tottenham have been tipped to enter a bidding war for Gallagher.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Atletico Madrid are extremely reluctant to lose the midfielder mid-way through the season.
Sources say Diego Simeone wants to keep a strong squad, especially if they are able to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 1 August that Tottenham could miss out on signing Gallagher as Atletico Madrid will drive a hard bargain.

Atletico Madrid demand huge Conor Gallagher fee from Spurs
Football Insider exclusively revealed in July that Atletico will demand £50million to sell Gallagher after paying around £33million for him in 2024.
Growing interest in his signature from Premier League clubs has done little to lower that price tag, while he is still expected to play a key role under Simeone.
Gallagher has made five appearances so far this season and started in Atletico Madrid’s 3-2 Champions League defeat to Liverpool despite the ongoing speculation.
Speaking on the Inside Track Podcast, I explained: “It would be a hard deal to do. It’s no surprise that there were some clubs sniffing around Gallagher in the summer.
“He’s been in and out of the Atletico Madrid side, not played as many minutes as he would like in La Liga, but he did start in the Champions League against Liverpool.
“He’s still got a role to play for Simeone’s side and he’s under contract until 2029, so if they were to even consider selling him, it would take a huge sum of money.

“That makes it a difficult deal to do in January due to the fee involved and obviously Atletico would need to bring in a replacement for him as well.
“If they progress into the latter stages of the Champions League, they won’t be wanting to lose anybody in the January window, so that’s another obstacle in the way for Spurs.”
Gallagher’s potential return to England was blocked during the summer, and there is believed to be even less chance he could make the move mid-way through the season.
Thomas Frank’s Tottenham transfer priority revealed
Thomas Frank was left frustrated at Tottenham after James Maddison’s injury left them without a direct replacement despite the late signing of Xavi Simons.
The manager is keen to bolster his squad in midfield, with more attack-minded targets on their radar alongside box-to-box options like Gallagher.
Star names such as Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers have been on Spurs’ shortlist as they put plans in place ahead of the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 15 September that West Ham and Everton are interested in Yves Bissouma, who could be allowed to leave Spurs in January.
Should the midfielder move on, there is a growing likelihood he will be replaced in the transfer market, with a number of options under consideration.
