Exclusive: Two Liverpool superstars have agreed new deals – ‘I’m hearing it’s done’
Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all in the final months of their current contracts at Liverpool and speculation over their futures is at fever pitch.
The Reds have faced uncertainty over their futures, with all three players linked to potential exits. Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with Real Madrid, while Van Dijk and Salah have also attracted interest, as they are free to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs.
Al Hilal would be in “pole position” to sign Salah if a new deal does not materialise with the Reds as all three players are getting dangerously close to becoming free agents.
However, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has now revealed that two of those players are close to signing new deals at Liverpool.
Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah contracts ‘as good as done’
Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson shared that deals for Van Dijk and Salah are nearing completion. However, he stated that Alexander-Arnold’s situation still remains unresolved and that he doesn’t expect “wholesale changes” even if players leave.
This news follows what Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool do not expect a final decision from Alexander-Arnold until the end of the season.
Robinson revealed: “But for what we’re hearing and what we’re getting out of Liverpool, we’re hearing that, well, I’m hearing from my sources that Van Dijk and Mo Salah are as good as done and Trent’s the one that’s not done and that’s the one that we’ve suspected all along isn’t it?
“So I think Mo Salah at Liverpool for another two years makes so much sense, pay him what he wants, him what he wants, he’s the best player in the Premier League. Van Dijk as well even at his age.

“I don’t see a whole revamp of the forward line. see certain movement, yeah absolutely. The new managers come in, I think he’s been really clever this year around his slot.
“He’s touched on what Jurgen Klopp’s done. He said this isn’t my side, this is his side. I’m making changes, I’m doing this little bits and bobs, but every time that they win, or they have a good result, this is Jurgen Klopp’s team, I’m just putting my touches onto it. think going forward, he will make signings and changes will be made.
“I don’t think there’s going to be wholesale changes at Liverpool in the summer”.
Arne Slot may have to prepare for life without Trent Alexander-Arnold
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has urged the club not to sign a replacement If Alexander-Arnold does leave due to the emergence of Conor Bradley.

Many fans and pundits have backed Bradley to step up, with the young full-back impressing whenever called upon.
While deals for Van Dijk and Salah are close, uncertainty remains over their academy graduate’s future. However, given the team’s strong form under Slot, a major summer rebuild may not be necessary as they currently top the Premier League by seven points.
