Exclusive: Tyrese Campbell undergoing Sheffield United medical
Tyrese Campbell is undergoing a medical at Sheffield United ahead of signing on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
Campbell, 24, left Stoke City upon the expiration of his contract earlier this summer, alerting multiple Championship clubs to his availability.
Sheffield United have swooped ahead of other potential suitors to land his signature and have already agreed terms over the move.
The striker will now complete his medical at United’s training ground before putting the finishing touches on the deal before it can be confirmed by the club.
The Blades are expecting to be busy in the final month of the window, and Football Insider also revealed they have agreed to sign Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan.
Tyrece Campbell set to join Sheffield United amid busy transfer window
Following their relegation from the Premier League last time out, Chris Wilder is looking to rebuild his squad to mount a challenge for promotion.
The likes of Callum O’Hare, Harrison Burrows, Kieffer Moore, Sam McCallum and Harry Souttar have already arrived at Bramall Lane this summer, and they are showing no signs of stopping.
While the window has been busy in terms of incomings, they have also seen 15 players leave, each of whom needed replacing.
Among those exiting players were Cameron Archer, Oli McBurnie and Ben Brereton Diaz, leaving the Blades in desperate need of a new striker.
Campbell played 26 games for Stoke last season, scoring four goals and providing four assists across all competitions, but both parties agreed to part ways for a fresh start.

Campbell’s availability on a free made him a prime target for Wilder, and Sheffield United have moved quickly to get the deal over the line.
The Blades have targeted value-for-money deals in this transfer window, with O’Hare, McCallum, and Jamie Shackleton also arriving on free transfers.
In other news, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has agreed to join Sheffield United on loan.
