Exclusive: Werder Bremen exploring three options to sign West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug
Werder Bremen are exploring a deal to sign West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug in January, sources have told Football Insider.
The Bundesliga club are looking at multiple options to sign the 32-year-old including a loan, a loan-to-buy or a straight-up purchase.
Fullkrug joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund in 2024, but the German has only scored three goals for the London club.
He spent the best years of his career at Bremen, where he scored 49 goals in 124 matches after graduating from their youth set-up.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that West Ham are looking at signing a striker to replace Fullkrug, with the club not going to stand in the way of an expected departure.

Ivan Toney wanted as Niclas Fullkrug replacement
Fullkrug has only played 380 minutes for West Ham in the Premier League this season, with Jarrod Bowen and Callum Wilson ahead of him in the pecking order for the central attacking role.
Nuno Espirito Santo is looking to add to his attacking options in January, with West Ham currently in the Premier League relegation zone.
The Hammers have netted just 13 times in 11 league games, with a new striker a high priority for Nuno in the transfer market.
Ivan Toney is a striker West Ham would like to bring to the London Stadium, with the 29-year-old currently playing in Saudi Arabia and wanting to boost his England prospects.
However, West Ham would face competition from a host of other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and Everton.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants Adama Traore reunion
Santo also wants to reunite with winger Adama Traore to bolster his attacking options, with the pair having worked together previously at Wolves.

The sale of Fullkrug could fund the transfer, with Traore currently not a certain starter at fellow Premier League club Fulham.
Traore’s abundance of pace would also add another dimension to West Ham’s attack, and bring energy to an ageing squad.
