West Ham face competition from European big guns in the battle to sign SC Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy this summer, Football Insider understands.
The 23-year-old has caught the eye at the Ligue 1 outfit this season and there are a number of Premier League sides interested in doing a deal for his capture.
A source in France has told Football Insider that the Hammers, Bournemouth and considered signing Guirassy during the January transfer window and that they will look to reignite their pursuits at the end of the season.
Guirassy, who has been capped by France at Under-20 level, has caught the attention of Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.
Like the Premier League trio, they are scouring the transfer market for attacking additions on a smaller budget than normal and they see Guirassy as a potential star in the making.
Amiens are resigned to losing Guirassy this summer following their relegation from Ligue 1 after the season was cancelled early due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The forward was valued at £18million in January but he is now available far cheaper as transfer fees prepare to tumble.
Guirassy returned to France permanently last summer from Bundesliga outfit FC Koln in a £5m deal.
The former Lille striker has gone on to net nine times in 23 Ligue 1 matches this season.
This haul included two goals against Paris Saint Germain as well as strikes against other big guns Marseille, Monaco and Lille.
In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that the club are braced to lose £30m in devastating blow.
