Exclusive: West Ham’s three-man January signing plan revealed

Nuno Espirito Santo is eager to address the spine of his West Ham team with a three-man transfer plan in January, sources have told Football Insider.

Espirito Santo took over from Graham Potter at the end of last month with the Hammers at the wrong end of the Premier League table.

After picking up one point from games against Everton and Arsenal, West Ham were beaten 1-0 by Brentford at the London Stadium, and were dominated for the entirety of the contest.

It is evident that the East London side need reinforcements in January, and the club will be looking to address three positions in particular.

West Ham to prioritise a centre-forward in January

Sources say that West Ham’s primary target in the January transfer window will be a centre-forward.

Espirito Santo is clearly not a fan of Callum Wilson, and hasn’t given the former England international a single minute of game time since he took over.

The situation has now worsened for the East London side in terms of strikers, as Niclas Fullkrug suffered a thigh injury while playing for Germany and will be out for several weeks.

West Ham would also like to strengthen in central midfield and central defence if finances allow.

Espirito Santo is keen to address the spine of his team, to help the Hammers away from the Premier League relegation zone.

West Ham linked with exciting strikers

West Ham have already been heavily linked with a number of strikers who they could potentially be targeting in the new year.

Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee has been rumoured as an option for the Hammers due to his lack of game time at Old Trafford.

Tyrique George has also been linked with West Ham, with his departure from Stamford Bridge seemingly imminent.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Chelsea will give the green light to George’s exit in the January transfer window.

Hammers fans will hope that whoever they manage to bring in can find some form in front of goal and dispel any chance of relegation to the Championship.
