Noel Whelan suggests that Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is tearing his hair out after the “massively frustrating” update on Tyler Roberts.
The former Leeds striker and lifelong fan at Elland Road, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that he is baffled as to why the 21-year-old’s time at the club has been plagued with injuries.
Bielsa confirmed at his press conference that Roberts was still suffering with an injury problem and that he could not put a date on when the attacking talent might be back in contention.

Whelan says that the Argentine boss must be seriously frustrated with missing one of his attacking talents, not least because they are thin on the ground when it comes to forward options.
Asked if his injury record was a worry, Whelan told Football Insider: “That’s the problem with Tyler, he came to Leeds United, is injured, had a broken season last year with injuries and once again, started the season injured and is injured again.
“It’s difficult to pinpoint what’s wrong with Tyler and why he’s picking up these injuries all the time but it’s very frustrating for the player but it’s got to be massively frustrating for the management who really need a player like him right now.”
Roberts has played just 10 times for the Whites this season, with a nine-minute cameo against Birmingham City his only appearance in the last nine league games.
The six-cap Welsh international has a total of 41 games under his belt for Leeds, with four goals and six assists.
