Exclusive: Wilfried Nancy to raid MLS as Celtic appointment edges close
Wilfried Nancy is likely to utilise the MLS market if he takes over at Celtic, sources have told Football Insider.
Nancy is expected to be appointed by Celtic imminently, coming in from Columbus Crew as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent replacement.
Martin O’Neill has been in temporary charge of the Hoops, and they currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership, seven points adrift of Hearts with a game in hand.
Nancy knows the MLS market extremely well due to his time at Columbus Crews, and sources say he could raid the league if he becomes Celtic boss.

Celtic linked with Columbus Crew star
Ahead of Nancy’s expected appointment at Parkhead, Columbus Crew forward Diego Rossi has been linked with Celtic.
Rossi scored 16 goals and picked up five assists in the MLS last season and has previously hinted at a desire to return to Europe.
The 27-year-old spent two seasons with Turkish side Fenerbahce between 2021 and 2023.
Rossi also has seven caps for the Uruguayan national team, making his debut in 2022 and scoring his first goal in a friendly against Panama.
Celtic must back Wilfried Nancy
Meanwhile, Celtic will have to back Nancy financially in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources say that the Hoops are desperate to bring in reinforcements in January, as they look to challenge Hearts for the Scottish Premiership title.
The Glasgow giants want to sign a striker, as well as a winger, to enhance their attacking threat in the second half of the season.
