Exclusive: Wolves and Crystal Palace explore Phil Harres deal
Premier League duo Wolves and Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on Holstein Kiel striker Phil Harres, sources have told Football Insider.
Harres has impressed for Kiel in his first season in the Bundesliga after making the improbable jump from the German fourth division all the way up to the top flight.
Kiel signed Harres last summer from fourth-tier side FC 08 Homburg after he scored 26 goals across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign.
The 23-year-old has taken the step up to the Bundesliga in his stride, scoring eight goals in 24 appearances in the top flight.
£8.5m bid will seal Harres deal for Wolves and Crystal Palace
The powerful forward’s emergence for Kiel has not gone unnoticed with the player emerging on the radar of several clubs across Europe.
Wolves and Crystal Palace have made regular checks on Harres this season and they see him as a potential star in the making.
It is believed Kiel value the striker at around €10million (£8.5million) as the summer window approaches.

The German side are battling to avoid relegation to the 2.Bundesliga after promotion from the second tier last season.
Harres, who came through the youth ranks at Borussia Dortmund and Bochum, can play as a right-winger and as a centre-forward.
Wolves and Crystal Palace are both solidly mid-table with Premier League football guaranteed, while Palace could also offer European football should they beat Man City in the FA Cup final.

Wolves plot surprise Vardy move
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (28 April) that Wolves are also plotting a surprise free transfer move for Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy.
Vardy, 38, plans to continue his playing career after leaving Leicester – and sources say he wants a chance at a swansong in the Premier League.
It is believed the Midlands club see Vardy as an important impact player rather than a nailed-on starter in Vitor Pereira’s side.
