
Exclusive: Wolves and Ipswich Town open ‘preliminary’ Iheanacho talks
Wolves and Ipswich Town have opened preliminary talks to sign Sevilla striker Kelechi Iheanacho, sources have told Football Insider.
The Spanish club have given the green light to the former Leicester City and Man City star being loaned out this month.
Wolves and Ipswich have registered their interest in a deal and held early discussions with Sevilla.
There is also interest from other Premier League clubs as well as many across Europe’s top leagues in the 28-year-old.
Iheanacho only left Leicester to join Sevilla on a free transfer in the summer but could already be set for a return to England.
The Nigeria international has made 11 appearances across all competitions this term, scoring three goals.
Seven of those outings have come as part of the starting line-up for Sevilla, who sit mid-table in La Liga after 18 games.
Wolves and Ipswich register interest in Sevilla’s Iheanacho
He signed a contract with the Andalusia-based club running until June 2026, with an option for an extra 12 months.
Iheanacho had previously spent his entire career in England, scoring 82 goals in 296 games across spells with Leicester and Man City.
He hit five goals in 23 Championship games with the Foxes last term.

The 55-cap international has scored 15 goals for Nigeria since making his senior Super Eagles debut in November 2015.
Wolves and Ipswich sit 17th and 18th respectively in the Premier League after 20 games of the 2024-25 campaign.
