Exclusive: Wolves explore move to sign Jamie Vardy
Wolves are plotting a surprise free transfer move for Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy, sources have told Football Insider.
The veteran striker was dubbed Leicester’s greatest-ever player by the club when he announced his departure from the King Power Stadium last week.
Vardy, 38, plans to continue his playing career – and sources say he wants a chance at a swansong in the Premier League.
Wolves are keen to add his experience and goals to the squad at Molineux this summer as they prepare to lose star man Matheus Cunha.

It is believed the Midlands club see Vardy as an important impact player rather than a nailed-on starter in Vitor Pereira’s side.
The former England international has hit eight goals and contributed three assists in 33 appearances across all competitions this season.

He stayed at Leicester for the 2023-24 campaign and led them to promotion as Championship winners, scoring 18 goals in the second tier.
The 38-year-old has also scored 143 goals in the Premier League – and is just 19 strikes away from making the top ten of the all-time goalscorers list.
Vardy cost Leicester just £1million and has spent 13 years at the King Power Stadium, leading them to top-flight glory in the 2015-16 season.
Pereira wants big Wolves backing this summer
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (15 April) that Vitor Pereira is keen to be backed heavily by Wolves chiefs in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Pereira fears losing players like Cunha, Joao Gomes and Rayan Ait-Nouri without suitable replacements could put Wolves on the back foot next term.
Football Insider also revealed earlier this month (14 April) that all parties are happy to sit down and discuss a contract extension for the Wolves boss – whose current deal expires in June 2026.
