Wolves, Derby and Reading are eyeing a raid on Championship rivals Bristol City for midfielder Marlon Pack, Football Insider sources understand.
Pack has been instrumental in Bristol City’s success so far this season having been a virtual ever-present in Lee Johnson’s side and helping them climb to fourth spot in the Championship and reach the semi-finals of the League Cup.
Former Portsmouth man Pack was outstanding in City’s recent stunning League Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United dominating a midfield including United’s French star Paul Pogba.
Pack has established himself as one of the best midfield operators outside the Premier League during the last couple of seasons in the Championship with Bristol City.
Pack’s performances have not gone unnoticed among other clubs and the likes of Bristol City’s Championship rivals Wolves, Derby and Reading are all monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation at Ashton Gate.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that league leaders Wolves are lining up an imminent bid for the midfielder.
Pack is entering the final year of his contract at Bristol City and although the club hold an option of a further year in his contract the player’s suitors know they might be able to land the midfield dynamo for a bargain fee as his contract runs down.
Bristol City would not welcome interest in Pack as they look to maintain their bid for promotion to the Premier League and Carabao Cup success, but they are bracing themselves for offers for the classy playmaker.
In other Wolves transfer news, the club are in the hunt for this enigmatic striker who has been the subject of a £10million bid from a Premier League side.
