Wolves have opened talks with captain Conor Coady over a new contract, Football Insider can reveal.
The Premier League high flyers are looking to tie the 27-year-old defender down to a longer deal than his current agreement.
A Wolves source has told Football Insider that negotiations with Coady and his representatives are underway and all parties are hopeful of securing an agreement.
The centre-back only signed his current contract, which runs until the summer of 2023, in February of last year.
But club chiefs are aware of murmurs of interest from rival sides and have moved to commit him to an even longer deal.
It would also be a reward for virtual Coady’s excellence and durability during the team’s two seasons in the Premier League.
The centre-back has remarkably played every minute of every Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League match this season.
That amounts to 54 games and includes six Europa League qualifiers that began on 25 July last year.
The only games Coady has missed this season have been in the League Cup.
The Liverpool academy product also started all 38 Premier League matches last season as well as 45 of their 46 Championship games in their title-winning 2017-18 campaign, when the only fixture he missed was due to suspension.
In other Wolves news, the club are in talks to sign Aston Villa senior star.
