Exclusive: Wolves work on completing double signing

Wolves are working behind the scenes to complete two new signings, sources have told Football Insider.

It has been a disappointing summer for the Midlands club, losing Matheus Cunha to Manchester United and Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester City.

In addition, there has only been one confirmed incoming at Molineux so far, as winger Fer Lopez joined from Celta Vigo.

However, sources say that Wolves are hoping to bring in a new centre-back as well as a new goalkeeper before the transfer window shuts.

Vitor Pereira unhappy with lack of Wolves business

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has been very open about his frustration at the lack of additions so far this summer.

The Portuguese manager has been forced to call up 10 youth players to first-team training, due to the lack of depth in his squad.

As well as a goalkeeper and centre-back, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Wolves are working on a deal to bring in a right-back.

After captain Nelson Semedo refused to sign a new deal at the club, the Old Gold are searching for a replacement ahead of the upcoming campaign.

‘Sunderland make Patterson U-turn after Johnstone move’

Meanwhile, Sunderland have reportedly made a U-turn on their decision surrounding the sale of Anthony Patterson this summer.

That is according to their former chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Regis Le Bris is open to keeping the 25-year-old in the North East.

The Black Cats had previously planned to bring in a nailed-on first-choice goalkeeper, which would have facilitated Patterson’s exit amid interest from the likes of Southampton.

However, the addition of Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone would more likely see them drum up competition for the number-one shirt between their two options.
