
Exclusive: Wrexham in race to sign Hampus Skoglund in £2.6m deal
Wrexham are battling German club Mainz to sign Hammarby defender Hampus Skoglund, sources have told Football Insider.
The Championship outfit are working on a deal to land the right-back, 21, for £2.6million.
Sources in Germany claim Mainz are leading the chase for Skoglund, who has a contract that runs until December 2029.
Skoglund has impressed in the last 18 months for after breaking into the first team, which has brought him onto the radar of a number of clubs across Europe.
The defender has appeared 65 times in total for Hammarby, contributing seven assists, with the Swedish club coming second in their domestic league last season.

Wrexham pursue first January signing
Skoglund could become Wrexham‘s first signing of the January transfer window, with the Welsh club currently ninth in the Championship table.
He has represented Sweden’s under-21 team on 13 occasions, scoring one goal, with his entire senior career to date spent at Hammarby.
Wrexham have ambitions of becoming a Premier League club, and Phil Parkinson’s side are only a point off the final play-off place.
Parkinson will therefore want to bolster his squad for the second half of the season with the Red Dragons currently on a four-game winning streak.
Wrexham to be active in January window
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Wrexham will reject offers for Josh Windass amid interest from Rangers.

The club is keen to keep hold of their star players to push for promotion to the Premier League this season.
Wrexham are set to be active in the market, with Apollo Sports Capital having recently become minority investors in the club to further boost their financial position.
