Exclusive: Wycombe Wanderers close to signing Rangers star Alex Lowry
Wycombe Wanderers are closing in on a deal to sign Alex Lowry from Rangers on a permanent deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old is out of contract at Ibrox in the summer, with the January transfer window being the final chance for the Gers to cash in on the midfielder.
Lowry has only made three appearances for Rangers’ first team, with all of those coming in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
The Scotland Under-21 international showcased his qualities within those games though, scoring twice.
Lowry has made 14 appearances for Rangers, while he also gained experience during a loan spell at Hearts to progress his individual career.
Wycombe are now set to offer the versatile midfielder the opportunity for more game time as the Chairboys are pushing for promotion to the Championship.
Wycombe Wanderers want to strengthen with Alex Lowry
Sam Grace’s side currently sit second in League One, with the club just two points behind Birmingham City.
Walsall are adamant that the attacking midfielder isn’t for sale, which could increase Wycombe’s pursuit of Lowry.

Wycombe are currently without a permanent manager after Matt Bloomfield moved to Luton Town, with Grace running things on an interim basis at the moment.
The Chairboys will be back in action on Saturday (25 January) against Northampton Town.
