Exeter City vs Rotherham United postponement latest as Met Office issues new weather warning

Exeter City are set to host Rotherham United on Saturday as they look to continue their great form in League One.

The Grecians have pushed up to 11th in the table and are now only seven points off the playoffs.

In comparison, Rotherham United have had a terrible season to date, and are 23rd in the table, two points from safety.

Therefore, both sides will be looking to pick up a win, but the weather could prevent the game from going ahead altogether.

Met Office sends out weather warning for Exeter City vs Rotherham United

League One has been plagued by bad weather this season, and this is set to continue on Saturday.

The Met Office on 29 January have issued a weather warning for South West England, with Exeter one of the areas affected.

A yellow warning for rain is set to last from Friday 9am to Saturday 6am.

Bus and train services will probably be affected, with journey times taking longer, while flooding of homes and businesses is possible.

On top of this, spray and flooding on roads can make journey times longer.

However, with it only being a yellow warning, and with it set to stop at 6am on Saturday, there is every chance the game goes ahead at St James’ Park on Saturday.

Exeter City’s record vs Rotherham United explained

Exeter City and Rotherham United have rarely clashed throughout their histories, with only 38 meetings to date.

Traditionally, games have been close, with Rotherham United only winning two more than the Grecians.

However, in recent years, Exeter have particularly struggled, winning just two of their last eight encounters.

The fixture between these two sides earlier this season ended in a 1-0 win for Rotherham, with Denzel Hall’s sole goal proving to be the winner.

While the Millers will be looking to continue this trend on Saturday, it would be some feat if they pulled it off, given the contrasting form between the two sides.

However, it remains to be seen who comes out on top in the League One fixture, as both teams look to come away with all three points to improve their chances of reaching their ambitions this season.
