Vorm reacts to Lloris injury, describes his mindset

By Amir Mir

Michel Vorm has insisted he is raring to deputise for his injured team-mate Hugo Lloris.

Spurs confirmed on Tuesday that Lloris will face up to four weeks on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring in their 1-1 draw at Everton on Saturday.

Vorm, who made a £5million switch from Swansea to Spurs in 2014, believes that he must capitalise on the rare opportunity, as he explained his mind-set following Lloris’ injury.

“These are the moments that I have to be ready for and I don’t get fazed by it with the experience that I have,” Vorm told the official Tottenham official website.

“You always have to keep in mind that something might happen, it hasn’t in the last few seasons, it did here.

“It always strange when you have to come on in these circumstances, but if you can make an impact in a positive result then happy days.”

The Dutchman has seen his playing time reduced moving to Tottenham in 2014 to deputise for Lloris.

Vorm made only seven appearances in all competitions last term, including a sole appearance in the Premier League.

Vorm made 97 appearances for Swansea following his arrival into English football in 2011, but the 32-year-old now has the chance to make his mark more permanently for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Vorm is set to take the gloves in fixtures against Crystal Palace and Liverpool at home, then an away trip to Stoke, followed by Sunderland at White Hart Lane, before rounding off September with a home fixture against Middlesbrough.

In other Tottenham team news, Jan Vertonghen has used these two words to describe the club’s Premier League rivals.
