Expert can’t believe Harry Kane could quit Tottenham for giants after confirmed news

Kevin Campbell has backed Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham despite interest from German giants Bayern Munich.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 28-year-old is “enjoying his football again” at Spurs after asking to leave for Man City last summer (2021).

As quoted by German outlet Bild (17 July), Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has branded a deal for Kane “a dream of the future” as they look to replace Barcelona-bound hitman Robert Lewandowski.

According to Kicker (10 July), Bayern are eyeing a possible swoop for the England captain in 2023 and see him as Lewandowski’s long-term successor.

Kane is under contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until June 2024.

The talisman notched 17 goals and nine assists in 37 Premier League games last term – despite a slow start to the campaign.

Campbell suggested Antonio Conte could play a big role in Kane’s potential decision to remain at his boyhood club.

He told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “I just think with Conte at Spurs, and the way they finished last season – I think he’s going to stay.

“There is just a good feeling around the club again, and you can see that he is enjoying his football again.

“Look, if Bayern put the money down then obviously there will be conversations to be had.

“But I just don’t see it happening. Especially with the happy Harry Kane we are seeing at the moment. I just see a new contract.”

Kane last penned new terms at Spurs in the summer of 2018.

He is just three goals away from tying Wayne Rooney as England’s all-time top goalscorer with 53 strikes.
