Expert can't believe the Tottenham star Jose Mourinho wants in Nicolo Zaniolo swap deal
Jose Mourinho was being “mischievous” by asking to include Oliver Skipp in a possible Tottenham bid for Nicolo Zaniolo.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
According to the Guardian (20 July), Spurs are interested in making Zaniolo, 23, their seventh signing of the summer.
La Repubblica reported on Wednesday (3 August), Jose Mourinho has requested Skipp, 21, to be included in any deal for the Roma attacker.
However, it is claimed Fabio Paratici is only willing to use either Japhet Tanganga or Tanguy Ndombele in any swap deal.
Wenham claims Mourinho knew Spurs would never let Skipp go.

“I had to laugh, we are continuing to be linked with Zaniolo,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“One report claimed Mourinho wanted to include Skipp in the deal. Mourinho knows full well that Tottenham would not include Skipp in any deal.
“That was Jose being a bit mischievous. It does show the magnitude and gravitas Oliver Skipp is held in with the people who have worked with him before.”
“I’m sure Skippy will play a big role for us this season.”
Zaniolo scored two goals and chipped in with two assists for Roma during the 2021-22 Serie A campaign.
He has made 111 total appearances for the club.
