Expert delighted amid £146m Tottenham news - 'the brand is enormous'
The global brand of Tottenham Hotspur is now “enormous” and will continue to grow over the coming years.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As per Swiss Ramble (26 September) Tottenham received £146.1m in TV payments from the Premier League for last season’s matches in which Spurs were televised 27 times.
Only Liverpool and Manchester City made more money though they had more matches televised.
Wenham is not surprised by this reveal.
“The brand has grown no end in terms of coverage around the world,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There have been the Anthony Joshua fights and there are more NFL games being hosted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
“We are at an away game and our home stadium is sold out. Think of the merchandise, the food and drink that will be sold, we will be making money without even being there.
“The brand is enormous now. There was a load of games called off last season around the winter and Sky basically determined that they could set everything up to broadcast Tottenham v Crystal Palace at, like, a day’s notice, something like that.
“It was really short notice and that is thanks to the infrastructure of the stadium and yet another benefit. The global brand is still growing.
“I have said this before, our stadium should be full every day we aren’t playing there. Events, concerts, NFL. That is what this was built for.
“I know some fans are defensive about the stadium, they don’t want to see other clubs using our stadium. That’s fine by me.”
