Expert: Everton in ‘very big trouble’ as ‘utter disaster’ deal slammed
Everton are in “very big trouble” ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League season.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
A full-strength Everton were beaten 4-0 by MLS side Minnesota United in a pre-season clash on 21 July.

They have also lost Richarlison to Tottenham this summer and have so far failed to sign a replacement.
The Merseyside club were in a relegation battle for most of the 2021-22 season but a late rally saved the club from a season in the second tier.
Wenham insists years of poor recruitment, such as the deal to sign Dele Alli, are catching up with the Toffees.
“They were effectively saved from relegation last season by Richarlison and they sold him,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Yes, they are in very big trouble. I know they signed Tarkowski on a free transfer who I think is fairly decent.
“Is he better than Godfrey or Keane, probably not? They are on similar levels. Have they signed anybody else at all?
“There are links with Cornet but he isn’t going to replace Richarlison’s goals. They are in deep trouble.
“Years of woeful recruitment, taking Dele Alli on £150,000-a-week wages has been an utter disaster for them but a masterstroke by Tottenham.
“It doesn’t look like he can score at all so now they are relying on Anthony Gordon who is still a young player.”

The Blues face Dynamo Kyiv in their final pre-season game on Friday (29 July).
Everton start their Premier League season at home against Chelsea on 6 August.
