Expert 'fully expects' Djed Spence to sign for Tottenham after source's update
Djed Spence was identified as a key target under Jose Mourinho and he will sign for Tottenham this summer.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 10 June, this site revealed Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Djed Spence from Middlesbrough.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Spurs are closing in on a breakthrough after intensifying their Spence pursuit in recent days.
Wenham is certain a deal will get done for the long-term Spurs target.
“England Under 21s have been away and he hasn’t been able to do a medical over there,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I think that is why there has been a bit of caution in the last few days after reports first started coming out saying this one will get done.
“I expect him to be a Tottenham player. He is a target who was identified a very long time ago.
“Impressive performances in the FA Cup against Arsenal and Leicester drew eyes on him and he played against us at home for Middlesbrough while Jose Mourinho was manager.
“He very much liked the player so he is a long-term club target. I fully expect that deal to get done this summer.”
Spence has enhanced his reputation over the last year while playing an instrumental role in Nottingham Forest’s promotion bid.
He made 40 league starts among 50 appearances in all competitions during 2021-22, and started all their play-off wins.
