Expert: Hatate to quit Celtic within weeks, Kyogo exit plan revealed
Kyogo Furuhashi still needs time to develop as a player at Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football insider, former Celtic striker Franck McAvennie has urged Kyogo to stay at Celtic for extra season to continue his development before eventually moving on.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Monday (26 June) that New Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers does not want to allow star man Kyogo Furuhashi to leave the club this summer.
Premier League newcomers Burnley have become the latest side to be linked with a summer move for Furuhashi, as the transfer window begins to reach a critical stage.
Football Insider also revealed earlier this month (7 June) that Furuhashi also has interest from Premier League trio Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace – as well as Serie A and Bundesliga clubs.
Amid interest elsewhere, McAvennie believes that is in Kyogo’s best interest to stay at Celtic.
“Kyogo should stay where he is,” he told Football Insider.
“I think Reo Hatate will leave the club this summer, but Kyogo must stay for another year.
“After one more season at Celtic he would then be ready to walk into any team across Europe.

“But if he leaves now he would not be ready to deal with the intensity of a stronger league, especially if he does decide to want to play in the Premier League.
“An extra season at Celtic will be benefit him as he knows the club so he will get game time, and still manage to experience European football.”
