Expert lauds 'magnificent' James Forrest as 'wonderful' Celtic news confirmed
James Forrest is going to be a one-club man after signing a new deal at Celtic.
That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s new contract.
On Thursday (12 May), Celtic announced Forrest, 30, has signed a new three-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2025.
The midfielder has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and registering five assists.
McAvennie is delighted Forrest is staying.
“I have to pass my congratulations onto James Forrest after his new contract,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It’s been a mixed bag this season, there’s a lot to be said about why he’s staying or why he hasn’t gone.
“He’s going to be a one-club man which is winderful for him personally, he is a top talent.
“He annoys people sometimes when he doesn’t cross the ball but he has been a great servant.
“He has a habit of scoring big goals in big games as well, he loves the big stages.
“Let’s see how much football he plays this season but hopefully he can be a good option for us next year.
“He’s a magnificent player on his day and we just need to see a bit more of that.”
Forrest’s start to the season was plagued by a knee injury that ruled him out of 14 games.
He has made 444 total appearances for the Hoops.
