Expert: Man City set the pace for PL clubs as ‘fantastic’ £300m deal edges closer
The Premier League should follow up on a “fantastic proposition” and partner with Sorare to join Man City in the NFT market.
That is the view of finance expert Dr Dan Plumley, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the latest proposal from Sorare to partner with the Premier League.
Football Insider sources revealed last Wednesday (4 January) that Sorare plans to announce a Premier League-wide licensing deal in the first quarter of 2023.

The deal is estimated to be worth around £30million-a-year, with Sorare providing NFT digital collectables for the Premier League in return.
Man City recently dipped into the NFT market, with the club partnering with Puma to release their first of three digital art drops back in May.
The NFT and cryptocurrency industry has been widely criticised for its volatile existence and lack of regulations, but Plumley believes Sorare can be an exception.
“It seems like a great deal, £30m-a-year over 10 years,” Plumley told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“The Premier League will probably learn from previous companies they’ve looked at.
“One thing I’ve noticed in this space is that Sorare actually appears to be one of the more reputable companies, and I’ve spoken to a few people around there and it seems they are trying to do things in the right way.
“They’re actually pushing for regulation in their own industry, they’ve already got partnerships with a handful of football clubs and are also looking to partner with the NBA.

“They are more reputable than their competitors and the Premier League will see this as one of the safer deals to make.
“It looks like a fantastic proposition on paper, and the value of the deal is also great for the Premier League.”
