Expert: ‘Plenty of clubs’ want to sign Troy Parrott as Tottenham ‘nonsense’ reported

John Wenham is delighted with Tottenham youngster Troy Parrott after a recent “nonsense” report on his future.

Spurs insider Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, reacted to the attacker’s upturn in form.

On 31 March, The Athletic reported Parrott, 20, does not have a future as a first-team player at Tottenham.

It was also claimed he has not spoken to Antonio Conte since he replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in November.

Since this story broke, Parrott has scored three goals in three games for MK Dons.

Wenham is thrilled with the player’s response after spending the season struggling in front of goal and claims plenty of clubs will be chasing him this summer.

“I’m so, so pleased for Troy,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He is continuing to shut the haters up after all of that nonsense about him not having a future at Tottenham.

“Stuff about Conte not having spoken to him, why would he? He’s out on loan.

“It shows a real mental strength in him to keep going and he’s getting his just rewards.

“He’s been brilliant all season and he is showing how good he is. I imagine there will be plenty of clubs chasing him this summer.”

Parrott has made 42 appearances for MK Dons this season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists.

He has made four senior appearances for Spurs with two of those coming in the 2019-20 season.
