Expert reveals real reason Tottenham did not re-sign Christian Eriksen
Tottenham did not sign Christian Eriksen as there is no space for him in Antonio Conte’s side.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Monday (4 July) The Athletic reported Eriksen, 30, has verbally agreed to join Man United and has accepted their proposal of a three-year deal.

In May, Football Insider revealed Tottenham had registered their interest in re-signing their former midfielder.
Wenham has conducted research and claims to know why Tottenham never made a concrete move for Eriksen.
“I’ve done a bit of research into this because at first glance I was really disappointed,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“For me, it seemed like a no-brainer and ticked a lot of boxes. I looked into his time under Conte at Inter Milan.
“Actually, he featured as a substitute quite a lot. It wasn’t until the end of the season when Conte started using him more.
“He wasn’t a starter. He likes an aggressive midfield and Eriksen doesn’t have the characteristics Conte looks for.
“That’s the honest truth. He likes a Bissouma or a Bentancur. In Conte’s aggressive, counter-attacking systems, there isn’t really room for a player like that.
“That goes back to his Chelsea side, the creativity comes from the wingers.
“Maybe that is why Tottenham haven’t shelled out a £150,000-per-week deal. We never moved for him, let’s make that clear.
“We enquired with his agents but that was as far as it went.”

The Denmark international signed a short-term deal with Brentford in January after leaving Inter Milan following a cardiac arrest.
He played 11 times during the 2021/22 campaign, with one goal and four assists under his belt.
