Expert: Sergio Reguilon's agents 'working overtime' to secure Tottenham exit after source update
Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon will not join Barcelona or Real Madrid this summer despite constant links to Spain’s giants.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Football Insider revealed on 28 April Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for Reguilon and that a Spanish club have registered their interest.
As reported by the Independent in 2020, the 25-year-old cost Spurs £27million when he joined from Real Madrid.
Wenham can’t see either Barcelona or Real Madrid being interested in Reguilon and claimed the player’s agent are “clearly working overtime” in a bid to secure their client a better move.
“It’s always Barcelona and Real Madrid and I don’t understand why,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s a Spain international and he looks the part. What is this constant thing with Reguilon and those two clubs?
“I can’t comprehend that. If they want to tick a box and sign a Spanish player then sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton, he’s miles better.
“Reguilon is average at best for us, he has done nothing to suggest he is worth a big-money move.
“He is more or at the level of a Hector Bellerin who is on loan at Real Betis.
“Agents are clearly working overtime trying to get him a better move because I just do not see those clubs being interested.”
Reguilon has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season.
He’s scored twice and provided three assists.
