Expert shares ‘ridiculous’ Marcus Rashford verdict amid Tottenham claim

Tottenham will not sign Marcus Rashford this summer unless Man United agree to loan him out.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Italian super-agent Roberto De Fanti told CaughtOffside on Wednesday (8 June) that there have been talks between Rashford‘s camp and Tottenham about a possible transfer this summer.

He also claimed the forward would cost between £70million and £80million.

As per The Telegraph (27 May) Antonio Conte is said to be intent on signing a versatile striker who can also operate out wide as well as through the middle.

Wenham would welcome the singing of Rashford but claims he will stay at Man United.

“I would prefer Rashford to someone like Richarlison,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I know he is coming off a bad season so if you could get him on a loan deal, that would be ideal.

“He is a very, very good player, an England international. He can also score some ridiculous goals.

“I remember the thumping goal he scored away at Chelsea for Man United. He is a really talented boy.

“He just needs a change of scenery and Man United losing Lingard this summer will be a blow to Marcus because they are best friends.

“I can’t see Man United agreeing to loan the player, I think he will stay and try to improve under Ten Hag.

“I also can’t see Tottenham signing him for £50million plus.”

Rashford made 32 appearances for Man United during the 2021-22 season.

He scored five goals after starting the season with a shoulder injury that needed surgery after Euro 2020.
