Expert: Sir Jim Ratcliffe could ditch Man United for Tottenham after deal agreed

Tottenham could announce further deals with Jim Ratcliffe after the club agreed a deal with one of his companies.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

The North Londoners announced on Wednesday (21 December) that they have signed a multi-year deal for the Grenadier, an offroad 4×4 manufactured by INEOS, to be its official vehicle partner.

INEOS is chaired and co-owned by Ratcliffe, the UK’s wealthiest man.

The 70-year-old has previously been linked with a takeover of Man United, whose owners the Glazer family publicly invited external investment in November.

Wenham claims further partnerships could now be announced, or Ratcliffe could even bid for the naming rights at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Tottenham have announced a new partnership, some sort of car manufacturing partnership,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“On the face of it, you think, ‘oh it’s just another partnership’. What I find really interesting about that is the company INEOS is owned by Jim Ratcliffe.

“He has been heavily linked with buying Chelsea and Man United in recent months. I also saw that Ratcliffe was at the game last night (v Nice).

“So I am just wondering, you look at naming rights for the stadium or something else, there seems to be interest in Tottenham at the moment.

“There is something to look at there and maybe future links between Ratcliffe and Tottenham.”

Tottenham

Tottenham having been looking for a naming rights partner ever since its state-of-the-art stadium opened its doors in April 2019.

Google and Amazon have both been heavily linked with bids.

In other news, one expert claims Harvey White will leave Tottenham on 1 January after a never-before-seen development.
