Expert slams Mikel Arteta as Tottenham backed to beat Arsenal in Raphinha race
Raphinha would snub the chance to sign for Arsenal if an offer from Tottenham is also on the table.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As per The Athletic (21 June), Arsenal have made a first offer for Raphinha, 25, but it falls well below Leeds’ valuation.
The same outlet reported on 3 June, that this valuation is £60million-plus.
The Brazilian is in high demand this summer after impressing during his two seasons at Elland Road.
Wenham claims Tottenham will hold all the cards if Spurs make a concrete offer for the attacker.

“It’s not just Champions League football that Tottenham can offer,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s the opportunity to work with a proper manager. They can offer them the opportunity to work in a world-class stadium.
“They can offer the opportunity to work at world-class training facilities. They can offer the ability to train and play with other world-class players.
“Arsenal don’t have any of those things at the moment. It’s not one difference, it’s five differences.
“The number one is a proper manager, an elite-level manager. Not someone who put out cones for Guardiola and has been promoted above his level.”
Raphinha scored 11 goals and chipped in with three assists during the 2021-22 Premier League season.
He joined Leeds from Rennes in the summer of 2020.
