Expert: Steven Bergwijn's '£27m' Tottenham exit 'will happen' after development
Steven Bergwijn will join Ajax this summer after he spoke about his Tottenham future in a recent interview.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Speaking to Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad (1 May), Bergwijn said, “A place in the starting line-up? Here? I honestly don’t think so.
He then admitted he will address his future in the summer but reiterated his desire to play regularly.
Wenham expects Bergwijn to join Ajax.
“When he signed, we had the luxury of the Amazon documentary so we could see everything,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They day he signed, he rocked up and Mourinho made it very clear that he was not his signing.
“It was a club signing. Yes Mourinho was happy with him because he scored on his debut against Man City.
“But it was very clear that this wasn’t Mourinho’s guy, we shouldn’t have signed him.
“The club saw this guy who was putting up good numbers over in Holland and he is very marketable.
“He has that celebration and has deals with EA Sports and Nike. £27millionn the fee was.
“We should make that back due to his form with Holland recently. He has gone months without scoring at a time which has always been a problem.
“I have said this before, I do think he will join Ajax and he will absolutely smash it iver there scoring 20-plus goals next season.
“This will happen as soon as Ajax offer the money, I’m sure.”
Bergwijn has made 22 appearances in the Premier League this season but he has not started since 23 Janauay.
He has scored three goals in those outings.
