Expert suggests when Liel Abada will quit Celtic amid ‘big’ claim
Frank McAvennie has suggested Liel Abada will leave Celtic in “one or two years”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said Abada is not a “finished article” yet but will move to the Premier League in he next few years.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (22 December), English top flight clubs are already following the 21-year-old.
Ange Postecoglou’s side consider the Israeli a key player and want to keep him at all costs.
The winger joined the Celts in 2021 on a five-year deal.
Abada has made 25 appearances for the Hoops so far this season and has scored nine goals and provided four assists in those outings.
The playmaker was on the bench for the 4-1 win over St Johnstone on Saturday (24 December) but replaced James Forrest for the final half an hour.
McAvennie insisted Abada will depart Parkhead in the near future.
“I think he will go eventually to one of the big clubs in the Premier League,” he told Football Insider.

“He is only 21, he has got a lot time. I think Celtic supporters will see him for a year or two more.
“Teams in England want to buy the finished article and he has got a long way to go before he is that. One thing he has got is time on his hands. And he is not short of confidence either that is for sure.“
In other news, Celtic have been victims of major injustice as controversial Liel Abada footage emerges – ‘no one knows the rules,’ says expert.
