Expert tells Tottenham fans to stop 'panicking' after Chelsea news
Tottenham fans should not be worried by Chelsea’s potential transfer business.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Chelsea have lost Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Romelu Lukaku this summer while question marks remain over Cezar Azpilicueta’s future.
However, following Todd Boehly’s takeover, the Blues have added Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly while the club remains in talks for Sevilla defender Joules Kounde.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday (24 July) that Chelsea have had a £55million bid accepted for the 23-year-old though Barcelona are trying to hijack the deal.
Wenham claims some Spurs fans are “panicking” and “whinging” about the club’s potential business.

“I have seen a lot of Tottenham fans whinging about Chelsea’s potential business,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There is a lot of talk about Kounde. He may now go to Barcelona, once again we are seeing people panicking about signings that aren’t over the line.
“I hear fans saying ‘they have Kounde, they have Kimpembe’, they have neither. Let’s remember, these players, if they do arrive, will have to come in and be the best defender in the Premier League because that is what Rudiger was last year.
“Rudiger was the best and they lost him for nothing. Anyone coming in has to be that good. I don’t think Koulibaly is as good as Rudiger in terms of being Premier League proven.
“There are just a lot of people who think we should be panicking about Chelsea’s business. They have one centre back through the door after losing two.
“Azpilicueta wants to leave as well so we will have to see who they sign before we start panicking.”
